18 Habits of Emotionally Intelligent Leaders
Habit #13 -Impassioned:
Inspire the best in others through consistent courage, vibrant vision, and unquestionable integrity.
Over 18 weeks, we are excited to introduce 18 habits that separate emotionally intelligent leaders from the rest. These habits fill the gap between mediocre, good, and great leaders.
Habit #13 – IMPASSIONED
This one ingredient can increase employee engagement, foster a culture of trust and improve productivity.
As a young leader, I was taught to focus on motivating the team to deliver. The results were inconsistent at best. Why, because leaders cannot motivate members of their team. Motivation is an internal force that cannot be directly transferred.
What can we do instead? We can inspire!
Here are 3 keys to becoming a more inspiring leader.
Courageous Conviction: Embrace courage as your guiding light. Stand up for what you believe in, even when it’s tough. Your unwavering commitment to your vision will inspire others to follow suit.
Vivid Vision: Paint a vivid picture of the future. Share your dreams and aspirations with your team. When they can see where you’re headed, they’ll be more motivated to join you on the journey.
Unshakable Integrity: Integrity is your compass. Be consistent in your values and principles, even when faced with challenges. Trust is the foundation of inspiration, and your unwavering integrity will earn you the trust of your team.
Show me a team that is frustrated, disengaged, and lacking in trust and I’ll show you a leader who has not found the key to inspiring their team.
Being IMPASSIONED isn’t just about words; it’s about actions. Lead with unwavering courage, a compelling vision, and unquestionable integrity, and you’ll inspire greatness in others.
Shoutout a leader who inspires you!
